While at Ride, I worked with a small team of designers to produce all marketing collateral for the company. Together, we created essentially all graphic applications for hardgoods, POP, and the web. Ride produced many opportunities for me to be involved in both print and 3-D design applications. With jobs ranging from board graphics one day, to posters and trade show graphics the next, working in the snowboard industry has without a doubt molded me into a better, well rounded, multi-strength designer.

While working as Art Director at Hammerquist Studios, I had produced a series of ads, photo-shoots, and catalogs for Redington. During that time the company was wanting to re-brand the overall personality of their company. They wanted this new look and feel to be geared more towards a younger audience that viewed fly-fishing as an experience, rather than status symbol. It was a super fun project.

K2 is always a great group of people to work for. Since my time at Ride, I've had several opportunities to produce work for their in-house crew. Most of my design experience with K2 Skis was focused on their new goggle and helmet program. The challenge was branding this group of hardgood accessories separate from skis, while staying within K2's overall standards. I recently have also had a chance to produce several series' of ski graphics for one of K2's 2015 models. Lots of fun!

I love doing hardgoods graphics! Whether it's snow, or wake, or boots, or bindings, it's all fun. I've been lucky enough to produce graphics for a hand-full of different brands and sports. Here's a few samples.

Cappel is the premium outwear brand of Ride Snowboards. It was always fun creating their collateral. It was a completely different look than Ride, where we were always trying to make the pieces look super rich, yet still have a sub-culture feel. It was combining a vintage pin-up theme to contemporary high-tech lux patterns.

This company is a huge success story to come out of Southern Oregon. They asked our crew at Anvil NW to produce packaging for their line of instant oatmeal, which was quickly gaining popularity. They wanted something that looked "un-quaker". The end result were graphics that conformed with the standard while still standing out from its competition. It was a lot fun to be part of a local biz getting ready to go big.

Zipp is a manufacturer of super high-end racing wheels and components out of the mid-west. They were a fun group to work with, because they always wanted a look that stood out from their competitors. This left us lots of latitude for experimenting with type. Great clients.

Various ad series' for Ocean Kayak's fishing and recreational models. Ocean Kayak was just one of several kayak companies under the same manufacturer. Their focus was salt water based and angler driven.

While at Hammerquist Studios, I produced an ad series, and mini site for Outdoor Research. Both projects were a lot of fun, but the "Sponsored By:" ad campaign was a blast. I got the idea knowing that the average sponsored rider is by no means rich, and that most sponsored athletes are really sponsored by their day-jobs. It was a real hit with the OR crew.
